Student Revolutions Sweeping UK, Germany and Australia
The latest action took place at the University Graz for the second time this week, the first being a roof scaling action two days ago. The action is amplifying this campaign, that is now being called, "The Student Revolutions" by Just Stop Oil. Although the campaigns are separate, they are joined by the A22 Network, which means it could quickly spread to anywhere that the A22 Network or copycat groups exist.
The design of the actions has been quite simple, a little paint, a university student, and scheduled talks for interested students. But the effect has been massive, as now we've seen over 20 of these actions executed over the past two weeks.
Vivien, 25, is a geography student at the University of Graz said, “The climate catastrophe and its fatal consequences cannot and must not be ignored any further. Especially here at the university, the place where a lot of knowledge about the climate crisis is generated, people are largely very aware of the effects of our inaction. However, I think that with this awareness comes a great responsibility - the responsibility to act appropriately. I therefore call on all fellow students and staff to show solidarity with the victims that the climate catastrophe has already claimed and to consequently join in peaceful civil resistance. We need each and every one of you to put enough pressure on the government to finally fulfill its duty to protect the population."
