Student Revolutions in Germany
In Germany, Monday, student revolutionaries from the group Letzte Generation, sprayed their university with paint. This action is part of a series of actions coming out of Austria, UK and Germany, called the Student Revolutions, where students of a university perform a rebellious action, usually involving paint, and getting arrested, while a second group runs a talk that evening to gather more recruits for the group.
Student Revolutions have so far numbered nearly 50 across continents, but the potential energy of going truly international is always there. The actions have been simple, but eye catching, and speak to the next (and possibly last) generation of people charged with protecting the Earth.
Nico, who took part in the protest and is a student at Goethe University, said, “The motto of Goethe University is 'Science for Society.' But what society needs now is climate protection that is compatible with people's lives.”
Nico continues, ”There are enough solutions from science and so are the financial resources. The only thing missing is appropriate measures from political decision-makers."
Letzte Generation's Twitter said, “Our universities continue to fail to take a clear stand against the unconstitutional government policy and continue to watch as we head towards a future of global, economic and social collapse.”
Letzte Generation is part of the A22 Network for civil resistance.
