Just Stop Oil Continue Paint Colleges Orange, supporters paint 11 colleges total in call for Academia to join them in Novermber.

Ruby, 19, said, “I’m taking action today to call out the hypocrisy of Manchester University, an academic institution which is fundamentally failing students. Since 2022 they’ve taken over 3.5 million dollars in funding from oil and gas. They’ve been complicit in their greenwashing and perpetuating the disconnect to the fact that we are around the corner from societal collapse which means mass starvation, death, suffering, violence. The government doesn’t give a shit about this. It’s had years to change its course of action. At this point entering into civil resistance is the only option for anyone who wants to come into any hope - averting mass extinction and complete collapse.”

Chiara Sarti, a Phd student at King's College, before taking action, said, "New oil and gas is a death sentence. Young people have been completely betrayed. The government is enacting policies that will destroy my generation. We have a moral imperative to do whatever it nonviolently takes to stop them."

Sam, A Leeds graduate in Geography & Economics, said while being carried away, “This University is complicit in genocide. We have to act. Students across the country have to go into civil resistance. We don’t have more time. This is it.”
Just Stop Oil have painted 11 universities in 4 days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and today, and are seeking to mobilize for mass civil resistance starting October 29th.

Join up with Declare Emergency and make Headlines in DC

Join DE This Sunday for a talk about how you can join this exciting group - and start making headlines of your own! Or at least help others do the same.
“What are our responsibilities at this time? Because of the fossil fuel industry, we are facing horrors of a magnitude never before experienced in our existence. Our government continues to lead us to the edge of no return. We must stand up and defend ourselves. No one else is going to do it. It must be us, if we want to live.
Our methods must be disruptive, and they must be nonviolent. Our actions are evidence-based, credible, and we have a plan. The only thing missing at this point in time is YOU!”
