Rigged up in protest lock down gear, the “This Is Rigged” Scottish activists get to the fence, and immediately start scaling up it. Using barricades as ladders, climbing, jumping, they push each other up and over in a mad scramble. Security is close behind, and starts grabbing onto their clothing, immobilizing them temporarily. Some make it over. Some attach themselves there to the gate. Not far away, two glue themselves to the road, blocking access to the terminal. 10 hours later, 10 are in custody. 

This is their 4th barricade of the Grangemouth oil terminal in 2 weeks. Another successful night of blockading the oil supply of 70% of Scotland’s fuel. 

This Is Rigged are quickly becoming one of the most exciting protest groups to watch. Their actions are sacrificial, full of heart, disruptive and emotionally charged. Their point - to end new oil and gas licenses. And to boot - to get fair transition for Scotland’s oil workers, who are not to blame for the global boiling that’s ensued. Responsibility for the toxic system that is perpetuating a mass murder project falls squarely on Big Oil, their banks, global elite backers and other ecocidal corporations. This Is Rigged understands this, and are taking great steps to hold them accountable.
