Scientists Rebellion in Denmark Blockade Airport
Scientists Rebellion Blockade Airport to demand an end to private jets
Blockading, Associate Professor, Laura Lo Horn, said, "We're here because private jets are one the main manifestations of unequal co2 emissions and greenhouse gas emissions. In Denmark, it's a small elite that flies with private jets. There's no regulation of it. It's completely absurd that the government allows them to emit so much, while the Danish people may have no food on the table, or struggle to pay the rent. The ultra rich are just flying in private jets, jetting around, and destroying the future of the children in Denmark and around the world."
Another Scientist Rebellion blockader said, "I'm here because we are facing a climate crisis. And one of the reasons is that 1% of our population, the ultra rich, are using private jets - they are causing this climate crisis. 1% of our population is causing disasters around the world. We have to stop this. We want to ban private jets."
Scientists, such as Peter Kalmus, have been very sensitive to this issue as it really is a no-brainer from a policy standpoint. Banning private jets help alleviate massive inequality, and would make a sizeable and immediate impact in the reduction of fossil fuels.
It is a kind of societal insanity or collective sickness that we haven't yet banned private jets.

The protest ended with at handful of the protesters being carried off the street and eventually detained, and arrested.
