Block Cop City Week of Action
The Block Cop City Protests are happening all week. They have had presentations, trainings and plenty of actions all week, including this rally at the courthouse for the 61 defendant of the RICO charges. The indictments of the 61 defendees is rather dramatic, but the crowd was in good spirits. No defendants were kept in jail at arraignment, but some are still negotiating bail conditions. The next court date could be as late as June. For more on these actions visit defendtheatlantaforest.org/
Steve Donziger on Twitter had this to say, “In what might be the worst case of police repression in recent US history, 61 mostly peaceful Cop City protestors are in a Georgia court today to face "racketeering" charges and 35-yr prison terms.”
100 Just Stop Oil Supporters Arrested in Whitehall
Monday, 130 Just Stop Oil supporters from the North and South West of England marched down Whitehall from Trafalgar Square. The police issued a section 7, and began arresting people 10 minutes to noon. A few minutes after noon, a hundred police were on the scene, and 100 Just Stop Oil supporters were under arrest. Many went limp, which made it a chaotic scene, where the police would have difficulty getting everyone to the jail.
Justin Jago, 53, a registered blind guide dog user from Bristol, who said was arrested with the group. He said, “I am marching in response to government plans to issue over 100 new oil and gas licences. I am angry that this government has failed to address the catastrophe that is killing people around the world and threatens the future of humanity without immediate action. Soaring temperatures and adverse weather conditions are causing forest fires and flooding, killing countless people and causing mass displacement of families. Historically civil disobedience has been the catalyst for positive change when governments have failed us, and I can’t ignore the facts. We owe it to children and young people facing a frightening future to act.”
Up with the Assemblies, Down with the Irrationalists
‘Everything is parched’: Amazon struggles with drought amid deforestation ...The Amazon cannot endure unless cows are replaced by trees, dust by plants, and smoke by rain.” - The Guardian,
In years to come, people will look upon the irrationalist causal confusion of the international liberal class in the same way as we look upon the idea that dancing can making it rain. To be clear, the Amazon's heath will not be saved by things that constitute the Amazon's health (redescription). It will be saved by mass civil resistance combined with citizens' assemblies that stop governments enabling the corporate class to destroy life on Earth.

Former Ambassador and Threatened Species Commissioner of Australia, Gregory Andrews is on Hunger Strike, day 7, with some hefty demands.
His statement, “The world is on the brink of climate collapse. Billions of people will die from heat stroke, starvation and fossil-fuelled disasters in our lifetimes if we don't take real and fast action. But Australia is still digging up coal and chopping down forests. I want my children to have the same future and opportunities as the decision-makers in Parliament House today. That's why I'm on a #ClimateHungerStrike until Prime Minister Anthony Albanese commits to real action. Join me in calling for a safe future." -lyrebirddreaming.com/climatehungerstrike
His demands include a Climate Emergency and ending fossil fuel subsidies in Australia. Follow Gregory Andrews via @LyrebirdDream on Twitter
