Würzburg, August 15th, 2023, 5:00 p.m. – For the second time on Tuesday, a protest march of Letzte Generation moves through Würzburg.
At the center is Eberhardräder a farmer of 40 years from Basthemim. He hopes his support prompts action from politicians. As a farmer, he sees with his own eyes what the climate crisis can do.
Eberhardräder says, "I'm part of the last generation, because as a farmer I've noticed for a number of years that the climate crisis is causing us more and more problems today, with heavy rainfall and capricious weather, which did happen before, but those were once-in-a-century events and not every few years," in a video statement from the street. He continues, "And when I imagine...or I really don't want to imagine what will happen in a few years due to even more climate crisis, it becomes unbearable. That's why we should act now and it's inevitable that we have to support The Last Generation, that we take to the streets until the government, until politicians act," the Bavarian farmer continued.
By protesting without a permit, and with his tractor, the farmer risks not only committing an administrative offense but also losing his driver's license. But it seems worth it to him to make it clear to the government what they are actually risking here:
Ebergharbräder says, “I have a son who is studying agriculture. I have a farm that I would like to hand over, but a successful handover also requires an intact climate and I don't see that! I see this whole next generation in danger!" - Letzte Generation Blog, 8-15-2023
SMALL NUMBERS, BIG IMPACT
hosted by XR NYC
September 28th, 6:30-7:30, EST
Four civil disobedience activists (including one rebel) blocked the road to the Burning Man festival. It generated hundreds of media stories.
Another rebel glued his feet to the floor of Arthur Ashe stadium and stopped a US Open semi-final game for 49 minutes. It generated thousands of media hits worldwide, inserted the topic of climate emergency where it is least seen - the sports pages. Would you like to be a part of this new wave of climate actions, where a small number of brave people can make a big impact? Come learn from these two rebels. It's not hard. It just needs a bit of pluck, a bit of creativity, and a straightforward message.

“What are our responsibilities at this time? Because of the fossil fuel industry, we are facing horrors of a magnitude never before experienced in our existence. Our government continues to lead us to the edge of no return. We must stand up and defend ourselves. No one else is going to do it. It must be us, if we want to live.
Our methods must be disruptive, and they must be nonviolent. Our actions are evidence-based, credible, and we have a plan. The only thing missing at this point in time is YOU!”
