From the Twitter of @ClimateDefiance:

“we just fully shut down a fundraiser headlined by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Schumer took $283,200 from NextEra. In exchange he greenlit the Mountain Valley Pipeline.

This is a death sentence for us. So we shut down his event. And we did not apologize.”

Peter Kalmus, NASA Scientist, and @ClimateHuman on Twitter had this to comment: “Schumer has literally been accepting bribes in exchange for helping fossil fuel interests profit off of destroying our planet & collective future. This is ecocide. IT MUST STOP.

Climate activists are on the right side of history. I love to see this beautiful energy spreading!!”

Climate Defiance Announces Plans to Disrupt the President Today,

during his planned gathering among elites garnering his attention at a 100,000 dollar a plate lunch. The food must be excellent.

Here is the announcement from Climate Defiance:

“President Biden is showing up in Chicago tomorrow and so are we!

Everything we love is on the line: our families, our communities, our homes.

We will converge on the President’s fundraiser. And we will engage in disruptive direct action. We ask you to join us.

One month ago Biden signed the
Mountain Valley Pipeline into law.

Two months ago he approved 807 mile, 38 billion dollar, Alaska LNG Project.

Three months ago he approve Willow.

His fossil fuel addiction is killing us. We must rise up. And we will.
Tomorrow: Arm-in-arm with XR Chicago and XR Pathways, we will converge on Biden’s Chicago fundraiser.

We call on every good person to join us.
10:30 am at Pritzker Park"

SMALL NUMBERS, BIG IMPACT

hosted by XR NYC

September 28th, 6:30-7:30, EST

Four civil disobedience activists (including one rebel) blocked the road to the Burning Man festival. It generated hundreds of media stories.

Another rebel glued his feet to the floor of Arthur Ashe stadium and stopped a US Open semi-final game for 49 minutes. It generated thousands of media hits worldwide, inserted the topic of climate emergency where it is least seen - the sports pages.

Would you like to be a part of this new wave of climate actions, where a small number of brave people can make a big impact?

Come learn from these two rebels. It's not hard. It just needs a bit of pluck, a bit of creativity, and a straightforward message.

“What are our responsibilities at this time? Because of the fossil fuel industry, we are facing horrors of a magnitude never before experienced in our existence. Our government continues to lead us to the edge of no return. We must stand up and defend ourselves. No one else is going to do it. It must be us, if we want to live.
Our methods must be disruptive, and they must be nonviolent. Our actions are evidence-based, credible, and we have a plan. The only thing missing at this point in time is YOU!”
