3 Climate Defiance Members out of jail

The conditions of these jails are described as terrible. The holding cells for court appearances, ie: the 24 hour holding area before going before a judge, remain in terrible condition. Metal beds, with holes in them which can cut you or your clothing. Cockroaches. Very little food - and loud rambunctious behavior from inmates who at times are having mental health issues or other problems. These are the conditions described by Michael Greenberg, after his 36 hour stay.

Michael Greenberg, “I fully believe that the reason they kept us for 36 hours was not because the DC police wanted to but because people very high in the administration wanted to send a message. But the message (we are sending) is that we will come back bigger, and stronger, harder, and faster and more often, and more intensely until we get the future we deserve. No new fossil future projects. No extraction on federal land.
