Teddy says, “Eat Shit, Darren”
December 9th, Climate Defiance in NYC disrupted a Manhattan Luncheon in which Darren Woods, Exxon Mobil CEO was to take an award. They unfurled a banner which read, “Eat Shit, Darren” and the room was cleared, effectively ending the ceremony.
From Teddy of Climate Defiance, “We thought about it a lot, and even made a banner to make it clear: “Eat Shit, Darren.” I don’t know about you but — that’s how we feel about someone as morally bankrupt as this monster. We usually go after politicians, who have decision-making power on whether to regulate, or make obsolete, garbage humans like Darren Woods – for them, our messaging usually reflects a sincere hope that they will turn a new leaf."
Teddy continues, "But Darren’s entire job is to increase production of oil and gas, and to greenwash his way out of any accountability. What else is there to do but to supremely humiliate him in front of his rich friends?"
Teddy explains, "With that banner in hand, we stormed the stage before he could utter a word – and we proceeded to shut down the entire luncheon. After 20 minutes, we were still standing strong on stage as security ushered guests away from their wine and desserts and out of the room. We even stayed until they shut the lights off, just to be sure. Then we left. It really was that simple.“

We DO NOT do petitions.
We put our bodies on the line
If people in power will not save us we will save ourselves
There is no choice, we need consistent, mass-turnout, nonviolent disruption to stop business as usual and compel politicians to act
Wherever you are, rise up and join the youth standing up FACE TO FACE with the climate criminals signing our lives away
