Stonehenge Doused in Orange
On the Eve of the Summer Solstice, Just Stop Oil Spray Orange Cornflour Across Historical Landmark
One of those who took action, Niamh Lynch, 21, a Student from Oxford, said,“Stonehenge at solstice is all about celebrating the natural world – but look at the state it’s in! We all have a right to live a life free from suffering, but continued burning of oil, coal and gas is leading to death and suffering on an unparalleled scale.”
They continued, “It’s time for us to think about what our civilization will leave behind – what is our legacy? Standing inert for generations works well for stones – not climate policy.”
The other actor, Rajan Naidu, 73, from Birmingham, who said, “Either we end the fossil fuel era, or the fossil fuel era will end us. Just as fifty years ago, when the world used international treaties to defuse the threats posed by nuclear weapons, today the world needs a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty to phase out fossil fuels and to support dependent economies, workers and communities to move away from oil, gas and coal.”
They continued, “The orange cornflour we used to create an eye-catching spectacle will soon wash away with the rain, but the urgent need for effective government action to mitigate the catastrophic consequences of the climate and ecological crisis will not. Sign the treaty!”
Adam McKay, director of “Don’t Look Up,” and Just Stop Oil supporter, said, “Anyone angered by this rather than the climate apocalypse big oil has unleashed needs to take 3 deep breaths and then redirect their anger where it belongs: at the motherf*ckers in Gov, Media & big industry who have chosen $ over the lives of their families & community.”
Despite public outcry, and plenty of scientific evidence, the government still refuses to take radical steps towards action.
Just Stop Oil co-founder, Roger Hallam, continually calls for revolution, as the elites drive us perilously close to going off a cliff. That cliff being the AMOC shutdown, among other disasters, looming, heatwaves, droughts, wildfires and the collapse of 100% of all coral reef ecosystems around the globe.
Politicians and corporate leaders will be put on trial by today's teenagers for genocide, treason, and crimes against humanity. The government is not above the law. It is legitimate to rebel against a regime that destroys the lives and livelihoods of its citizens.

2023 WAS THE HOTTEST YEAR IN RECORDED HUMAN HISTORY. The media has treated it with the urgency of a garden fete. This is what happens when society ignores scientists gravest warnings - and it’s still just beginning

We often focus on global temperatures, but land regions where we all live have been warming much faster. For #showyourstripes day, here are land, ocean, and global climate stripes shown on the same color scale:

Hurricane Beryl
Watching history again: Not sure where this storm will level off, but seems likely at least high end cat 4 once it’s done deepening today. Worst case scenario for islands that have no experience with a storm of this magnitude, being so far south in the island chain.

Hurricane #Beryl intensified from a tropical depression to a 105kt (120mph) category-3 in 42 hours, and 115kt (130mph) category-4 in 48 hours. Here's how that intensification compares to all tropical depressions on record in the Atlantic. Unprecedented barely covers it.
