Monday, Martin from Climate Defiance was arrested while disrupting Vice President Kamala Harris’ fundraiser in Boston. Kamala is on the Cusp of approving 19 oil and gas projects, and Climate Defiance supporters were there to tell them their future is on the line. 
   Martin was pinned to the ground, and dragged through the streets, all the while continuing to chant and demand a livable future. Martin also asked for a ceasefire, because settler colonialism and climate justice are closely linked. Outside, 1000s were chanting for a ceasefire as well. 
   Martin said, “If they get built the emissions from US LNG exports alone would be more than the emissions of all of Europe. That's according to Bill McKibben's recent substack piece. If I want a future, if anyone wants a future, we have to stop these planet killers.
   I was violently pinned to the ground and arrested. 4 Secret Service officers hoisted me out of the building and tossed me into a cruiser. I wish I could have been in class or studying at the library instead of being dragged through the streets of Boston by Secret Service. But I’m 20, what choice do I have? Oppose these projects or let my future slip away? I’d love to spend my Thursday evening surrounded by friends in a dorm instead of standing handcuffed, shackled, awaiting a judge in jail. But what choice do I have? If we cannot have a future, nothing else matters.
   I dropped out of school in May to fight for my life because we have mere YEARS to stop this crisis. I can’t do this alone, none of us can do this alone. Only together, only with your support do we have a chance at surviving."
