Gina left the stage and the auditorium was subsequently emptied. Three members of Climate Defiance were arrested Tuesday, July 25th, when they demonstrated during Gina Raimondo's speech in the Reagon Building of the Wilson Center.
Gina Raimondo had has just approved a $100 million dollar fossil fuel project in Indonesia and the Biden Administration has approved a multitude of fossil fuel projects, including the Willow Project which is oil drilling in the arctic wildlife refuge and an even bigger LNG project. They are also approving new oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico.
Three are announced to be in custody, to be held overnight, including Michael Greenberg, founding member of Climate Defiance.

We were assaulted and arrested today for calling on Biden and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo to end fossil fuels.
This is an assault on our bodies, democracy, and the climate. pic.twitter.com/0sEwD4QuDo

Climate Defiance
We DO NOT do petitions.
We put our bodies on the line
If people in power will not save us we will save ourselves
There is no choice, we need consistent, mass-turnout, nonviolent disruption to stop business as usual and compel politicians to act
Wherever you are, rise up and join the youth standing up FACE TO FACE with the climate criminals signing our lives away
