On February 14th, 2024, the gauntlet was thrown down in Washington DC, when Donald Zepeda and the activist known as Kroegeor decorated the Constitution in red paint, at the nation’s capital. They declared themselves in rebellion, and demanded a declaration of a climate emergency. 

Following this defiant action, the president has not answered. Media has not engaged the public. Instead, the two so called suspects, or rebels as we like to call them, were placed in jail, and monitored. As the FBI began an investigation into the organization known as Declare Emergency, the duo were strong armed into eventually taking a deal - which they will soon be sentenced for. Years in jail, in exchange for a possibly lighter sentence. 

They did not believe that justice would be served in a court of law - and that their best chance, would be to take a deal.

We believe there is more that we can do. We believe that they are on the right side of history. We are Extinction Rebellion - we share that same demand - to Declare a Climate Emergency. We want to see citizens assemblies to make decisions. It’s obvious that Biden is too cowardly to allow citizens to make decisions about their health and future - so it will be up to us to force the issue - with non-violent civil disobedience.

And we are not without help. We have allies, we have friends, we have social media, and allied organizations. And most surprisingly of all - we will be joined by the toys.

The Lego men have joined - in asking our president to declare a climate emergency.

Since the government and FBI are doing all they can to prevent political discourse, and crack down on protesters, we feel some of the risk can be be alleviated, if we use humor, toys, indeed, child playthings - Legos - to help do the job. 

No more playing around - Declare a Climate Emergency.

This doesn’t necessarily level the playing field, but it does ask an interesting question. 

Are Legos braver than President Biden?  Will Biden crack down on Legos worse than he cracks down on people?

It’s time our president grow up - and Declare a Climate Emergency.
