A Dozen Climate Defiance supporters, coming from half a dozen organizations, unfurlled banners, shouted, chanted, and tried to stop the world from going up in smoke. Unfortunately, because Tennis is more important, all they got were scrapes, cuts, bruises, and the humiliation of being dragged out of a Tennis match that will have no consequence whatsoever on the fate of the planet. In an absolutely courageous display of disobedience, the group began by interrupting Gina Raimondo during her speech. US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo threatened them with removal, but in the end, the room was cleared - and Defiance remained. Gina Raimondo’s bank recently insured a $400,000,000 gas plan.

Climate Defiance gained access to a fundraiser where plates were starting at 500 dollars often go up to 50,000 or 100,000 per plate. Per plate, but the food is not what people are coming for. These kind of events are ways for presidential candidates to rake in money beyond what campaign elections would allow, and tie them to interests like big oil indefinitely.

After 36 hours in the notorious DC jails, 3 Climate Defiance members are let out in the afternoon of July 27th, 2023. The conditions of these jails are described as terrible. The holding cells for court appearances, ie: the 24 hour holding area before going before a judge, remain in terrible condition. Metal beds, with holes in them which can cut you or your clothing.
